How we became "Apricity"
Our Story
As with many new rock bands on the scene, we started out with nothing but a couple of guitars and a dream. We all went to the same sixth form and became good friends, bonding over our taste in music, and passion for playing it. One day, whilst sitting around, chatting idly about how our various music lessons were going, we realised we had all the components to make a perfect band. Louie had the guitar skills, Felix was an expert bassist and Isobel had a voice that made heads turn. It started off small, playing small venues with only cover songs under our belt, and for a long time we didn't even have a name. But just like the word "Apricity" there was warmth even in the darkest of times, and our friendship and love for the music kept us going. Before we knew it, we were playing to sold out theatres, and showing kids our age and beyond that rock and roll will never die.

"What is it like being a woman in such a male dominated field?"
"It's rare you see a woman as the leader of a band. We're always pushed to the corners, forced to be nothing but back-up singers, the forgotten drummer, or just another groupie. And these woman have acres of talent that is just, totally wasted. It's awful. So, yeah, it is nice to be able to see my name put first on all the posters, to correct all the gig planners who assume it's Louie, or Felix, that calls the shots. I mean, they're incredible people, but if you're asking who's really in charge, it's me. Isobel Wood. A woman. Either deal with it or get out."
